Sketches
I decided to start with rough ideas to get a view on the user journey and focusing on what could bring the best user experience. I decided to put some key elements on Post-it that I’ve attached to my wall in order to keep the core idea while I am prototyping.
Here I thought that it will be difficult to go without a horizontal scrolling. But by using the Medium app, I decided that it could be nice to separate the subject by adding a vertical dimension. I also wanted to have a kind of “medium” that foresee what the user needs to learn. A kind of AI that fetch our craves in the news feed.
Before final UI
Once the UX is set up, I am allowed to refine the UI. Here I decided to focus on some concept and not too much on having an all polished UI product with menus… I decided to be more oriented in exploring the user journey for this case.

For instance, a key aspect I wanted to implement was a white space at the top of the screens (highlighted in red) in order to keep balance with the news feed. Also it’s a hard to reach part of the screen and I wanted to make all possible interactions in the reachable area.
Experience through animation
One of the aspects I wanted to propose was a virtual intelligence that proposes us pertinent context following our choices. I decided to spend a little bit more time on the animation of the AI module. Once we touch it, it shows some article or writers we might be interested in.
